Uber Freight added two transportation veterans to its leadership, according to a news release last week.
The logistics platform hired former C.H. Robinson VP Dan Annunziata into a new role at Uber Freight, head of commercial, as well as Amazon veteran Hany Elkordy as head of logistics and last mile solutions.
Annunziata will be primarily focused on unifying commercial, sales operations and solutions organization to help the company better its role in servicing shippers.
He started in the position in January and recently served as a VP at C.H. Robinson Worldwide in its North American Surface Transportation division for nearly six years, part of over 15 years with the brokerage giant, according to his LinkedIn.
Elkordy will spearhead parcel modality enhancements and expansion, working closely with product, operations and technology teams, the release said.
He has served in executive roles for logistics at Amazon, Walmart and Chewy, according to his LinkedIn.
The additions follow other recent hires, Uber Freight said, that include Norfolk Southern veteran D’Andrae Larry to serve as head of intermodal, Alec Getschow of C.H. Robinson to become VP of mid-market sales, and Convoy’s Brooks McMahon for the role of VP of emerging products and business development.
Uber Freight, a division of Uber, lists its competitors in the brokerage space as C.H. Robinson, Total Quality Logistics, Echo Global Logistics, UPS’ Coyote, Transfix, DHL and Next Trucking.
In announcing at the Mid-America Trucking Show the expansion of Uber Freight’s drop-and-hook program to a national reach, Powerloop VP of Operations Alyssa Correale noted how the company’s talent contributes to its competitive edge.
