Dive Insight:
Estes is racing against XPO, Saia and other carriers to reopen facilities acquired from Yellow following the biggest bankruptcy in trucking history.
The Richmond, Virginia-based carrier last month reopened Yellow terminals in Nevada and New Jersey, as well as an unrelated terminal in Florence, South Carolina.
In addition to Miami and West Palm Beach, the Boynton Beach facility joins other Estes operations in Florida, including those in Fort Myers, Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville.
The Boynton Beach terminal will be supervised by Terminal Manager Schawn Bittner and District Operations Manager Vince Spataro, Estes said in the LinkedIn post.
Estes spent nearly $250 million at the property auction, and its acquisitions from Yellow will add a combined 985 doors to its network, according to the company.
