Covenant Logistics Group promoted Corporate Controller Matisse Long to chief accounting officer earlier this month, per a securities filing.
With the promotion, Covenant said CFO James “Tripp” Grant’s role as principal accounting officer for the company would switch to Long.
Long, who started with the company in 2021, has 23-plus years of experience which include stints at KPMG and The Coca-Cola Co. Long also worked as a senior manager at Windham Brannon and senior auditor at Grant Thornton, per his LinkedIn profile.
“Long was a co-founder and director of Advisory Information Technology, LLC (“AdIT”), a division of Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC,” the filing said. “At AdIT, Mr. Long oversaw many of the division’s advisory, accounting, and informational technology responsibilities.”
A senior management bio on the company’s website notes Long’s work in manufacturing, financial institutions, logistics and more. “As a certified public accountant, Long's expertise has proven invaluable to Covenant's operations,” the summary says.
