XPO Logistics continued its buildout of RXO’s C-suite on Wednesday, naming Jared Weisfeld chief strategy officer of the North America brokerage spinoff.
In preparation for the spinoff, Weisfeld will first join as chief strategy officer for XPO’s North American transportation division and report to the division president, Drew Wilkerson. The company expects to complete its spinoff sometime in the fourth quarter, at which point Weisfeld and Wilkerson will transition to their roles at RXO.
At RXO, Weisfeld will be responsible for liaising with investors and analyzing the company’s future growth opportunities, according to a press release.
“I could not be more excited to join Drew Wilkerson and XPO Logistics, Inc.’s North American Transportation businesses as their Chief Strategy Officer,” Weisfeld said in a LinkedIn post. “We will soon spin off as RXO and our journey as the leading tech-enabled brokerage platform is just beginning.”
Weisfeld joins XPO and RXO after spending three years at Jefferies Financial Group, where he served as managing director and technology sector specialist, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Speaking to the chief strategy officer’s credentials, Wilkerson highlighted Weisfeld’s experience in the technology sector. “His insights will help us execute on RXO’s strongest opportunities in truck brokerage, where we have first-mover advantage as an innovator in digitization,” Wilkerson said in a statement.
XPO Logistics has been working to fill RXO’s leadership for the past several months. The company named Wilkerson CEO in May, and tapped Jamie Harris as CFO earlier in September. Brad Jacobs, who has long served as CEO of XPO, will also help oversee the spinoff as a non-executive chairman.
“I believe the only roles left are our HR and accounting leaders,” XPO Chief Communications Officer Nina Reinhardt said in an email.
