Wheaton Bekins promoted April Milner to VP of sales, marketing and move management as part of a broader executive leadership transition at the specialty carrier, the company announced Monday.
Milner, a seven-year-employee of the Indianapolis-based relocation specialty carrier, most recently was central regional sales director. She takes over the post from Chris Banguis, who left the company.
In her time with the company, Milner learned various aspects of the company’s operations as a move coordinator, outside salesperson, customer service manager and general manger.
Milner seamlessly adapted to hosting business webinars for customers and network agents during the pandemic, making her a go-to resource for the company, CEO Mark Kirschner said.
Milner’s promotion follows the June appointment of Jim Gaw as president, replacing A.J. Schneider who is now EVP of Olympia Moving & Storage, according to his LinkedIn profile. Olympia Moving & Storage is an interstate agent for Wheaton Worldwide Moving, according to Wheaton Bekins.
The company’s new president previously worked for Bekins Van Lines as VP of international before it was acquired by Wheaton Worldwide Moving in 2012.
Prior to his appointment as president, Gaw was COO at APS Logistics and spent 12 years at Atlas World Group International where he was president and COO.
Kirschner said Gaw’s experience in the household goods industry and operational expertise will help drive the company’s growth. As president, Gaw oversees Wheaton’s operations and works with the company’s board on long-range goals.
Wheaton Bekins brands include Wheaton World Wide Moving, Bekins Van Lines, Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, Arpin Van Lines and Clark & Reid. The company’s fleet includes 867 power units and 1,010 drivers, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration data.
