Valley Companies promoted Brett Miller to EVP and Jennifer Jenkins to VP of finance as part of a broader leadership shift to guide its evolution from a trucking company to a logistics and freight brokerage services provider, the company announced last month.
The Hudson, Wisconsin-based company also announced VP of Sales Josh Yatch will oversee the company’s sales programs and VP of Operations Dan Knudtson will direct operations.
Miller, who joined Valley Companies as VP of finance in 2019, will direct the company’s business strategy. Jenkins will oversee pricing and financial analysis as well as companywide finances.
CEO Todd Gilbert has led Valley Companies transition to a logistics and brokerage business after the company sold its trucking segment to Dayton Freight Lines in 2022. The new leadership structure is part of the business’ ongoing evolution as it continues seeking new growth opportunities, he said.
“When our customers come to us with a problem, we see it as an opportunity to be creative and add value,” CEO Todd Gilbert said. “With these latest promotions, we're elevating our leaders and empowering every employee to deliver on the Valley Value.”
Miller, whose experiences are in finance and account management, worked for Fidelity Life Association in Illinois for just over four years before joining the brokerage, according to his LinkedIn.
Jenkins became the director of finance at Valley Companies in July 2020, according to her LinkedIn. Before joining the company, Jenkins spent just over 10 years at Ecolab, where she worked in numerous financial roles.
Knudtson spent the past several years leading the company’s expansion into new services, including final mile, project management and expedited. He will now oversee those services as well as the brokerage’s business operations.
Yatch has led the company’s sales and logistics solutions for more than four years. He is now responsible for new and existing sales across transportation and value-add solutions as well as business growth and retention.
