Trimac Transportation has acquired Feldspar Trucking Co., the company announced last week.
The addition of the Spruce Pine, North Carolina-based bulk transport specialist expands Trimac’s U.S. operations and allows it to service the state’s mining industry. Feldspar currently hauls sand, clay and other minerals used in the ceramics and glass industries.
The acquisition enhances the company’s bulk transportation services, Trimac President and CEO Matt Faure said in a statement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jim Norris, a representative for Feldspar Trucking, said joining Trimac positions the company for growth.
Feldspar Trucking was founded in 1967 as Norris Trucking and employs 60 drivers as well as broker carriers, office staff and shop employees, who will be retained by Trimac.
“This partnership not only ensures the continued growth and success of Feldspar Trucking but also opens doors to new opportunities and expanded horizons for our team and clients alike,” he said.
The Feldspar Trucking acquisition adds to a long list of deals made by Trimac in recent years.
In 2023 alone, the Canada-based carrier acquired: fluid hauler Jacknife Oilfield Services of Bonnyville, Alberta; bulk hauler Transport Sylvian Lasalle of Joliette, Quebec; American Industrial Partners Logistics of Wapakoneta, Ohio, a provider of bulk terminal, transportation and warehousing services; and Tennessee-based bulk transport services company Doyle Sims & Sons Trucking.
