Truckload leaders traveled to Washington, D.C., last week for a dialogue with an Environmental Protection Agency official, a politics briefing from the editor and publisher of Inside Elections and a chance to lobby their representatives to support more funding for truck parking.
The Truckload Carriers Association’s Fall Business Meeting 2024 and Call on Washington allowed executives to share their insights with EPA Deputy Assistant Secretary Alejandra Nunez and their representatives in Congress.
“They've been in a very challenging freight market for several months now,” TCA President Jim Ward said in an interview.
“To take their time away from their business and attend this meeting and spend a day on Capitol Hill with us talking to their representatives — sharing with them about their business in the elected officials’ area, and how many other constituents they employ, and what it is they do every single day to keep the supply chain moving, and the type of challenges that they continue to be confronted with — I think, is extremely important,” he added.
We’ve rounded up our coverage of last week’s conference below, in case you missed it.
