Roadrunner has added 278 new lanes to its LTL network, the carrier announced March 18.
The new service out of Atlanta; Detroit; Nashville, Tennessee; Cleveland, Ohio; and Grand Rapids, Michigan expands the carrier's long-haul LTL network, according to the company.
“In our latest expansion, one-third of the lanes are more than 1,000-miles long, which as the preeminent long-haul LTL carrier in the nation, is our ‘sweet spot,’” said Tomasz Jamroz, Roadrunner president and COO, in the announcement.
The Illinois-based carrier runs no freight on rail, Jamroz noted.
“Our investment in technology and commitment to operational efficiency enables us to add to our Smart Network™ while maintaining expedited industry service levels,” he said.
The new lanes build on the carrier’s expansion of service last year to Atlanta, where it reopened a refurbished former Yellow Corp. terminal Roadrunner acquired from the bankrupt company in 2023.
The facility in Atlanta extended the carrier’s network to more than 40 metropolitan markets, it said at the time.
