PS Logistics acquired building materials hauling company Yordy Transport, according to a March press release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Yordy Transport was purchased through PS Logistics’ subsidiary Diamond State Trucking & Logistics, and is the Alabama, Birmingham-based company’s third flatbed acquisition this year.
In January PS Logistics’ acquired ELS’ flatbed division in Kenly, North Carolina, and flatbed hauler Buddy Moore Trucking of Birmingham, Alabama.
The deal is part of PS Logistics’ strategy of buying founder or family-owned trucking businesses to expand its service offerings, PS Logistics CEO and co-founder Scott Smith said in the release.
Yordy Transport’s freight mix and geographic coverage are complementary to Diamond State’s. Under the deal, Yordy Transport will operate as Diamond State, according to the release.
Yordy Transport of Morton, Illinois, was founded in 2018 by Avery Yordy. The carrier hauls railroad, steel, lumber and building materials throughout the central and southeastern U.S. PS Logistics said it has acquired 26 trucking operations and five-non asset logistics companies across the U.S. since 2016.
