Moran Transportation has acquired Ohio-based LTL carrier RMX Freight Systems, Moran announced late last month.
The acquisition will extend the combined company’s reach across the Midwest, creating a network of a dozen service centers and more than 675 pieces of equipment, according to the announcement.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Moran’s existing network features seven terminals with service areas in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri and Minnesota, according to its website. Moran’s Midwest sort center is located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, where the company was founded in 1980.
RMX features next-day business deliveries within Ohio and nearby areas, a quick turnaround period that LTL carriers compete to provide.
“With RMX's strong regional presence and dedicated team, we’re set to elevate our operational efficiency and customer service,” Moran said on Facebook and LinkedIn.
The integration process is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 11.
