Manufacturing executive Julie Streich was appointed to Schneider National’s board of directors effective immediately, the company announced July 19.
She also will serve on the board’s audit committee.
Streich is SVP and CFO for Connecticut-based manufacturer Barnes Group and previously worked as SVP of global finance operations at Centrica PLC.
Schneider said Stritch was selected for a board role because of her background and leadership in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and business development. The company in its announcement said it was impressed by her experience with process automation with an array of publicly traded companies in the energy, consumer services and manufacturing sectors.
Streich fills a newly created 10th director position on Schneider’s board, according to a regulatory filing. The company in February reduced its director count from 10 to nine, following the retirement of board member and chairman Adam Godfrey, managing partner of Stella Point Capital.
James Welch, retired CEO of YRC Worldwide, now Yellow, replaced Godfrey as chairman.
