Luminus Management has acquired Mexico-based logistics company Jaguar Transportation, the investment firm announced Monday.
The purchase was made in partnership with private equity firms Lilium Group and Gateway Transport Investments, a Mexican investor consortium. Luminus’ purchase also included Servicios de Transportacion Jaguar SA de CV and its affiliates.
“Jaguar is a unique asset in North American transportation, and we are excited to partner with Gateway and STJ’s existing Mexican management and shareholders to continue to develop and grow the company’s footprint and services,” Peterson Hawkins, partner at Lilium Group and executive chairman of Jaguar, said in a statement.
Jaguar, which owns more than 250 trucks and 600 trailers, has focused on supporting cross-border import and export trade with the U.S., Luminus said. It also has capabilities as an intra-Mexico carrier as well as a domestic and international freight broker.
The Monterrey-based company also operates facilities in Nuevo Laredo, San Luis Potosí, Mexico City and Guadalajara, according to the release. Under the deal, Jaguar will remain at its current headquarters in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, and retain its current management team.
