Two more members of Forward Air’s board of directors plan to step down, the carrier said in a securities filing March 20.
Ana Amicarella and Valerie Bonebrake informed the company they will not stand for reelection to the LTL carrier's board, the filing said.
Their departure “was not due to any disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices,” according to the filing. The decision by Amicarella and Bonebrake follows the resignation of Craig Carlock, the board’s former lead independent director and compensation chair, last year.
STG Logistics CEO Paul Svindland has been nominated to join Forward Air’s board. The shakeup is part of an ongoing changing of the guard at the carrier after last year’s merger with Omni Logistics, which prompted investors to call for a sale of the company.
The merger turned ugly in 2023, when Forward Air tried to pull out of the deal and Omni sued to force it through. Layoffs, a nearly $1 billion quarterly loss and the ouster of Forward Air’s president and its CEO followed last year.
Unlike several other recent additions to Forward Air leadership, Svindland does not hail from Ceva Logistics.
STG Logistics is a domestic port-to-door services and supply chain solutions provider, per Forward Air’s filing. Svindland’s prior board experience includes time with Celadon Group, Stella Environmental Services, BDP International, Roadrunner and Warehouse on Wheels, according to his LinkedIn profile.
