ArcBest has promoted Jason Parks, currently assistant corporate controller for the trucking company, to the role of chief accounting officer, controller and vice president, effective March 1.
Parks was selected in January 2022 to succeed Traci Sowersby in the accounting chief and controller roles, according to a company 8-K filing.
Parks’s LinkedIn profile indicates he has been with ArcBest since August 2014. He started with the company as senior manager corporate accounting, a role he served through May 2018 until he was appointed director, assistant corporate controller in June 2018.
ArcBest also is seeking a new CFO, following the retirement announcement of David Cobb in December. Cobb, who has been with the company for 17 years, will retire in October.
Canada-based TFI International disclosed in its Q4 results on Feb. 6 it had purchased just over 1M shares of ArcBest, which has led to speculation TFI may be positioning itself to purchase the company. Expansion through acquisition is a longtime strategy at TFI, which has purchased 114 businesses across the U.S. and Canada since 2008, according to its website.
