Illinois-based STG Logistics has acquired Best Dedicated Solutions, according to a June 8 press release.
The combination of the two Chicago-area based companies enhances STG’s existing intermodal, drayage and logistics services, the company said in a statement. Best Dedicated has the nation’s largest network of container freight station and transload facilities, according to STG.
Best Dedicated’s services include over-the-road, LTL, expedited, dry van, temperature-controlled transport and flatbed.
Best Dedicated Solutions CEO Danny Esplin will continue to lead the business as senior vice president of truck brokerage for STG working from Best Dedicated’s Vernon Hills, Illinois office.
"Joining STG will allow us to offer additional asset-based solutions to existing customers, but also provide a key component of STG's vision to provide a truly vertically integrated port-to-door solution to customer,” Esplin said in a statement. “We couldn't be more excited about the opportunities to grow together and our fit with STG."
STG CEO Paul Svindland said in a statement that the services of the two companies provide flexibility to customers to ship goods, either through intermodal containers or over-the-road.
STG, a portfolio company of Wind Point Partners and Oaktree Capital Management, is focused on growth in the areas of transload, warehousing, fulfillment and intermodal services. In March 2022, STG acquired the intermodal business of XPO Logistics for $710 million.
STG operates a nationwide network of 70 locations, served by 15,000 intermodal containers, 6,000 chassis and nearly 3,000 tractors.
