CRST has acquired BCB Transport, according to an Oct. 31 announcement.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based freight transportation giant did not disclose the terms of the deal. Established in 2011, BCB Transport is a Mansfield, Texas-based carrier with more than 300 trucks and brokerage services, according to the company’s website.
“With an impeccable track record for performance and data driven mindset, BCB will complement CRST’s Capacity Solutions business allowing us to find more ways to maximize our capacity and provide unlimited solutions for customers,” CRST President and CEO Hugh Ekberg said in a statement.
CRST said the companies’ similar mindsets and customer bases should strengthen its relationships with existing clients as well as create new opportunities for its dedicated, expedited and flatbed and logistics businesses.
Prior to the acquisition, CRST already operated more than 4,000 tractors, employed over 6,000 people, and was the 26th largest trucking company by revenue in Transport Topics’ 2023 Top 100 ranking.
