Contract Freighters Inc. President Greg Orr is retiring from the company July 15, according to a July 6 statement.
Orr, a 25-year transportation industry executive, has served as president of the Joplin, Missouri-based truckload carrier since January 2018. He previously worked for TFI, Action Resources and the former Con-way Multimodal now XPO.
"It has been an incredible honor to lead CFI over the past six years," Orr said in a statement. "The dedication and talent of our team have been instrumental in driving our success."
The company has not named a replacement, but Mike Gerdin, CEO of Heartland Express, which acquired CFI last year, is “evaluating and will make a decision soon,” a spokesperson told Transport Dive in an email Monday.
CFI credited Orr with fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence as well as maintaining a strong reputation with drivers and guiding the company through assorted industry challenges through the years.
Gerdin praised Orr’s contributions to the company.
“We appreciate Greg’s leadership at CFI since Heartland Express became associated with CFI in August 2022,” Gerdin said in a statement.
